How should I store my BulletSafe vest?
If you find that you are not wearing your vest on a constant day-to-day basis, you might be asking yourself, "Will my vest break down or become defective if exposed to higher temperatures?"
Common storage spaces such as storage bins, gear lockers or hook hanging lockers are optimal. The vest is not exposed to outside elements and is well ventilated, keeping the vest cool. In some instances, a vehicle can be considered as a location to store your vest as well. Some may believe keeping the vest in a high-temperature area could cause the vest to warp, break down or fray - Being constructed mostly of Polyethylene, the vest has a melting point of between 291 and 295 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore, a trunk compartment of a vehicle should be safe, as they generally do not reach those high of temperatures. If you will be utilizing a trunk for storage, we recommend having a barrier between the vest and the trunk compartment to act as an insulator. This will keep the vest from being exposed to direct heat.
